Artist solve problems. That was the objective and lesson for this unit. We learned about a artist who had to find a way to continue art though his new physical limitation. He was very inspirational and was the inspiration behind our project.
In this project we had to chose a limitation of any form and create art with that limitation. I decided to go with a material limitation only using white paper. At first I hated my decision I said to my self " How can you ever make anything with one color!". That is when Mr. Sands had the amazing idea of the light box. When the white paper is layered on the light box the white paper became white paper with many different values.
The more I layered the paper the darker it got. I played around with it a created a flower, but I knew I wanted to do something that had many different values of color. So I choose a tiger I found the tiger a really interesting subject because not only were there many different colors in a tiger but there were many different stripes the could be hard to portray with two denominational paper. I began To layer and place and the wonderful tiger above was created.
I really enjoyed this project and think it really made me think outside the box. The project had inspired me to never give up when I feel something is impossible. I can't wait to do more projects that push me in the future.
Thanks For Reading!
