Artist solve problems, so being a artist I solved the problem. We were given a clothes pin and told to make art. After three days of starring at failed idea after failed idea I decided to make the butterfly in the picture above. While playing around with the clothes pins the shape of them and the shapes they made when connected intrigued me. I played with them until I was like "That looks like a wing" and "That looks like a body" eventual putting them together to make the butterfly.
I experienced many unexpected turns along the way one was that painting the clothes pins was not working. The paint was causing them to stick together and to the paper towel under them so I dyed them. A good old box of Easter egg dye did the job creating brightly colored (and sparkly) clothes pins.
I love this project and hope to do more cool projects in the future!
